  • Allyson Jacobs, a native of Louisiana, grew up assisting her mother, a designer of Mardi Gras gowns and headpieces. Her mother Jean taught her about fabric, fit and style. She then went on to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. Her clothing brings together the best of New York and New Orleans, with uptown quality and downtown cool. She currently designs her luxury line for private clients in New York City. As the Fashion Director of Art For Progress, Allyson works to seek out and support other emerging fashion designers who exhibit artistic talent and determination. She is working to establish AFP as a place to find exceptional emerging designers and artists in the fashion industry. With fashion-focused events taking place during New York Fashion Week, a few designers can collectively have a bold presence on the fashion landscape.
