White Snow Cake, 2011 Bronze 243.8 x 134.6 x 182.9 cm / 96 x 53 x 72 in

Any Paul McCarthy fans? If so, then you won’t want to miss this exhibit. With one more week left, McCarthy’s “The Dwarves, The Forests” sculpture collection is worth viewing at Hauser and Wirth. It’s a twisted reinterpretation of the classic fairytale Snow White where McCarthy’s:

fascination with the aggression and visceral messiness of sculptural process – cracks and lumps and slop – as an analogue for physical violence and decay. Their dark sheen calls to mind the black coal of dank mines.

This offbeat exhibition falls in line with Tim Burton’s intriguing and outlandish work. Either way, this showcase is up until Saturday, December 17.
