The Creative

We are all artists.

Art shapes everyone’s life, from fashion to language. Accept your new title as an artist, as I’m accepting a new form of expressing my art as the new Editor for Art For Progress Blog.

I’ve been working with the Art For Progress team since 2007. My initial role was a PR intern, smooth-talking editors and media to attend AFP’s amazing fashion and art shows, highlighting tomorrow’s leaders in the art world-from fashion to film. After completing my stint as an intern, I became part of the AFP family taking on several projects thereafter for a couple of years while completing my undergrad at Parsons the New School for Design.

Fast-forward to 2011, and I am reconnected to AFP after taking a two-year adventure, to pursue a master’s degree in New Arts Journalism at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in the brutally cold, Chicago. This city—Chicago—is saturated with public art. For those who haven’t seen this Midwest City, almost everywhere you turn there’s a massive sculpture taking over the street. But, New York offers art in a different, more seductive way. It’s unfiltered and plastered on streets and any open spaces. With NYC being the hub for any and all artists and fashion radicals, the return was organic. The AFP offers a home to those emerging artists to unify and express their own art in our community, New York City.

As the new Editor for AFP Blog, I will offer the same source for emerging artists of all genres-visual art, fashion, music, and film, on an online platform. I am obsessed with contemporary, provocative art and respect the forebears who paved the way for the leaders of today. With that said, I am excited to shed light and provide a voice to those making a noise in the art world, while keeping you abreast about art events. Join us as we feature and interview artists, post about upcoming events, and much more!

Welcome to the future of the arts.
