| Description: | In February 2012 MYS is organizing an Art Workshop involving both Nepali and international artists. We believe that such a trip would not only provide the artists the opportunity to explore less traveled regions of Nepal and express their impressions in their chosen medium but will simultaneously allow an exchange of cultural and artistic insights.
The trek cum Art Workshop will take place along the Tamang Heritage Trail in Langtang Valley of Nepal. The main objective of the trek/Art Workshop is to support Nepal Tourism Year (NTY) 2011 and to complement tourism promotion activities in the Langtang region. Despite falling within the Langtang National Park, a popular trekking destination in Nepal, the Tamang Heritage Trail, developed by the Tourism for Rural Poverty Alleviation Program, is a new trail which falls off the beaten track with little exposure.
As a small non-profit organization with limited funds MYS cannot bear the cost of international travel to and from Kathmandu. We, however, would be happy to host your stay in Nepal for the duration of the trek/Art Workshop. MYS will be entitled to ownership of a percentage of the art work which would be used to raise funds for development projects in the area.

Industrial Grace
by artist Gigi Bio
February 9th and 10th at Locations TBA via @RabbitArtAttack
New York, NY (January 25, 2012) - Art Attack!, Rabbit Movers’ mobile gallery and performance space, is pleased to present artist Gigi Bio’s Industrial Grace show this February.
Hailing from Oakland, CA and based in Brooklyn, NY, Bio describes her life as a balance of art and fashion. Her passion for art, photography, and design started at an early age, ultimately creating the lens through which she views people, art, and the world around her. Immersed in the vitality and swiftly evolving nature of New York, her work is a reflection of the people, music, culture, bustling streets, speeding traffic, advertisements, and massive buildings passing by like a heart beat.
In 2011, she collaborated as a Creative Director with musician, MeLo-X to create her first music video called "Mirrors on My Mind". This project greatly influenced her work on Industrial Grace.

| Description: | The Other Lives show at Bowery Ballroom on 02.17 is fast approaching and this show should be on your radar.
This is one of the best bands on the road right now. Last year they opened for Bon Iver, this year Radiohead. They are simply stunning and when you see them you understand what it means to be a REAL band making REAL music.
Tamer Animals made countless best of lists last year, it was a really beautiful record taking indie rock to dizzying heights.
Pitchfork: meticulously written and arranged and, at times, vividly cinematic. In the wrong hands, this music could feel labored or overstuffed, but thanks to the makeshift orchestra's shaggy ringleader, Jesse Tabish, these wistful Americana-styled tracks (influenced by Tabish favorites Sigur Rós and Godspeed You! Black Emperor) rarely feel forced. Instead of the big studio sound of their self-titled debut, Tamer Animals feels organic and lovingly crafted, a record whose lushness often invites you to simply collapse into it.
