Berette Macaulay/SeBiArt

Bio - I am Sierra Leoneon and Czech German in heritage; raised in
Kingston, Jamaica, and the UK, and now living in the US for the past 10
years. I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Marymount Manhattan
College where I graduated Magna cum Laude with a concentration in Theater
Arts. My multicultural sensitivities, and multidisciplinary professional
life (working as a model, actor, modern dancer, make up artist, lighting
designer, and music editor) make it hard to define myself in a neat
category, as each and all parts are a constant source and force of
inspiration in my work. My greatest desire is to live in a constant state
of collaboration with other visual and performing artists to produce
socially or psychologically provocative photographic works, drawing from
theater, film, music, and real life influences. Themes often visited deal
with introspection, superficiality, vanity, confusion, repression
(particularly of women), duality, denial, delirium, and despair.
