Imagine taking part in a truly innovative multi-disciplinary global competition like no other. Art for Progress is holding its second annual “Clash of the Artists”, where emerging artists from around the globe unite online to unearth the greatest talent in the visual arts, live music, fashion design, short film, DJ, and for the true progressives of the avant-garde world, who cannot classified into one of the above categories, we have a category that we lovingly like to call, “creative”. Creative—we know, but that’s your job, not ours.

Gain global exposure for your work online while supporting arts education in New York City. The competition culminates with a finals event held in New York City in March 2008 where 1st , 2nd and third prize will be determined by our guests.

GREAT PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED TO THE TOP THREE ARTISTS IN EACH CATEGORY.

SUBMISSIONS BEGIN NOVEMBER 15TH AND RUN THROUGH JANUARY 7TH

Competition Rules and Regulations

1. Entries must be received or postmarked by January 7th, 2008.

2. The entry fee is $25 (USD) per entry. All checks or money orders must be payable to Art For Progress. Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are also accepted through Paypal.

3. If you do not wish to submit your work online, please download the printable form located at the top of the page, complete all of the sections, provide us with a disk of your work, include a check or money order payable to Art For Progress, and mail it to Art For Progress, 133 Mulberry Street, Suite 4W1, New York, NY 10013.

4. There is no limit to the number of times you may enter, but you must submit separately and pay the fee for each submission.

5. Your submission must be your original work. (no adaptations unless you have the rights to the work you are adapting).

5. The initial round of judging will be completed by a panel of Art For Progress artists. Some submissions may be eliminated from the online portion of the competition if the panel does not believe they are of the same level of quality as the other submissions.

6. Submitted materials will not be returned. Art For Progress reserves the right to use work submitted for the purpose of promoting the competition, but will not use the work for any other purpose without the consent of the artist.

Musicians

Please submit up to three tracks (MP3, Wav, Wma) of your original work either online (opposite this page) or on disk via postal mail. 40mb. is the maximum for uploads.

Fashion Designers

Please submit images (Jpeg or Gif) of three full looks of your original designs either online (opposite this page) or on disk via postal mail. 40mb. is the maximum for uploads.

Visual Artists

Please submit images (Jpeg or Gif) of three of your pieces (paintings, sculpture, photography) either online (opposite this page) or on disk via postal mail. 40mb. is the maximum for uploads.

Film Makers

Please submit your film that is no longer than 20 minutes via postal mail to the address indicated above. You may either fill out the online submission form (opposite this page) and check the box on the bottom of the application that indicates you'll be sending samples, or use the printable form and mail everything in one package.

DJ's

Please submit a mix no longer than 60 minutes via postal mail to the address indicated above. You may either fill out the online submission form (opposite this page) and check the box on the bottom of the application that indicates you'll be sending samples, or use the printable form and mail everything in one package.

Creative

Please submit samples of your work either online (opposite this page) or on disk via postal mail. If your work is film related or consists of files that exceed 40Mb, you may either fill out the online submission form (opposite this page) and check the box on the bottom of the application that indicates you'll be sending samples, or use the printable form and mail everything in one package. The winner of the creative category will be determined by online voting only. There will only be one winner in this category.
